We are learning about Word families!

Today Isaia, Siniva and Moses were learning about word families- these are words that all belong in the same 'family' because they have the same sound. We are also learning that if we know the word 'hat', I can also write/read 'bat', 'mat', 'cat', 'sat' and 'fat'. We know that only the beginning sound changes. These blocks are Miss Charleton's and they have lots of different word families written on them. We have to build towers of the same word families together and then whoever gets the most, gets the car racer!

Welcome to Room 7a 2017! The year of the super thinkers

Welcome to 2017!!

We are : 

Miss Charleton, Isaia, Moses, Siniva, Angel, Ayva, Marsden and Cyrus. 

(We also get new tamariki visiting and starting school every week!)

We have been so busy in the first 2 and 1/2 weeks of school!! In the photos below, you can see some of our learning. We are learning a lot through sensory and tactile play (making sounds and forming letters/numbers in salt, shaving foam and rice) and then using this knowledge in our written work and in our books! We are a class full of dancers, singers, movers and groovers and we LOVE to read.
